The Singers Corner
The Singer's Corner is a show for singers and about singers. Each show features a different singer, who is interviewed and given a platform for performance.
The purpose of the show is: (1) to showcase talented vocalists (both professional and non-professional), giving them much needed exposure and promotional tools; (2) to create a network of musicians (vocalists and instrumentalists) allowing all participants to share their experiences; and (3) to enlighten the public to the immense amount of vocal talent in our midst.
Years ago novice singers had the opportunity to meet and study under more seasoned singers. Those who had "made it" took younger singers under their wing, coached them, made them aware of the pitfalls and actually shared gigs. In today's cut-throat industry where competition is the rule, most singers struggle to keep up with the myriad of challenges that exist. The Singer's Corner is the avenue by which singers share career stories regarding health issues, training, techniques, experiences with musicians, managers, studios and agents.
In addition to vocal musicians, an ear, nose and throat (ENT) specialist will be interviewed to discuss how to care for the vocal cords, larynx and lungs. An entertainment attorney is scheduled to discuss the legalities of the business and a nutritionist will share some healthy eating ideas. Singers who watch the show will benefit from the knowledge shared and the general public will be totally entertained.
The Singer's Corner promises to be an "institution of education" for aspiring professional singers, keeping them free from the legal pitfalls and guiding them through the necessary steps for success.
